It was a rather sunny morning when Cinderpaw exited the apprentice's den, amber eyes sparkling with anticipation. Around one moon had passed since PeakClan's leader had made her an apprentice, and she was still hyped about it. She got to train with Duskpelt ! The one warrior she admired the most out of all. I mean, sure, the other warriors were great too, but the golden-pelted tom it just was something else. His pelt made him stand out quite a lot too, how he got that color though was a mystery. His parents had grey and dark cream fur, so maybe he just had a more saturated, cream pelt. But oh well... she didn't really care how Duskpelt had gotten his color, she just liked him for who he was.
Training so far had been just as great as she had imagined it to be; the well-trained warrior was always showing her new things, coming back on subjects she didn't get or succeed at, and never yelling at her for not getting something right the first time. Simply put; he was amazing! The dark she-cat looked forward to training with him today as well, anticipation burning in her paws.
One sunrise ago she had decided she would give her mentor a present, to show him how much she admired him. She had set up a whole thing, just for him. Oh how she hoped he would like it...
Thus Cinderpaw looked around with her head held low, trying to be discret, and quietly headed out to get everything ready.
The young she-cat had prepared a small pile of pretty feathers she had found in the territory, mostly when they were training, without Duskpelt noticing. Around the pile were several, shiny stones she had cleaned by the river, and laid down in a circle.
Now only one thing was missing. Well, two, actually, if you considered her mentor as a thing.
Cinderpaw let out a satisfied huff, and smiled, then turned around and left the place known as Sleepy Meadows behind.
