Outsiders
In the world of FAD, while the Clans do take up a large aspect of the site, just like in real life there ware some who refused to be categorized and fit into a station in life - those who don't want to be told what to do and are simply out for themselves, or who are the kind who like to be their own authority, or who don't want to be bothered by politics. Whatever the case, the cats who do not exist in the clans can be broken down into three main categories: Rogues, Loners and Kittypets.
Rogues
Typically, a cat termed a rogue is a solitary or small band of cats who are hostile and usually aggressive towards the Clans or other cats. Most of the time, cats who leave the Clans will then fall into this category, as they were either kicked out or will usually hold some sort of grudge against the clans they were once apart of; on top of having some sort of aggression or general fight training that makes them more difficult to deal with than regular outsiders. Even when they live in a band, they aren't afraid to turn on each other, are very violent and are known to not have any qualms about attacking elderly and very young cats, sometimes killing without good reason. Rogues have also abandoned their kits in the past. Some Clan Cats will consider all Outsiders not being directly cared for by twolegs as Rogues, but this is, in truth, not the case.
Typical Traits: Ruthlessness, Lust for Survival, Dirty Tactics, Fight Skills, Preparedness, Opportunistic Eaters, Violent and Aggressive
Loners
Like Rogues, these are cats who live on their own without the assistance of a Clan or Twolegs to feed and protect them. Unlike them, however, they are generally passive towards the Clans, and will actively help them if needed. They don't cause trouble, but at the same time they do not actively try to help others either; they are just that - loners. Some Clan members find them untrustworthy, but others befriend loners on the off chance that they might be useful allies in the future.
Typical Traits: Non-confrontational, Good scavengers and adaptive to new surroundings, trustworthy and sincere, protectors of the idea of quid-pro-quo (you help me - I'll help you).
Kittypets
Kittypets, also known as everkits, are looked after and pampered by Twolegs. Many are plump because Twolegs feed them several times daily with dry, tasteless pellets that look like rabbit droppings and soft slop, according to Clan cats. They are soft-muscled and know very little about the arts of fighting and hunting (with few notable exceptions). At a certain age, they are taken to be neutered or spayed by the veterinarian, who is otherwise known to the Clan cats as the Cutter. After this visit, they usually become lazy and have no desire to do much, and cannot have kits. Some have also been mutilated in other ways, such as having their claws removed. They are generally the healthiest of any cat however, as their twolegs take very good care of them. There are two types of kittypets as well - and Outside cat who has free range of a Garden or Twolegplace, and will often visit and even dabble in hunting, and Inside cats who will occasionally break outside but are even more useless than the outdoor variety.
Typical Traits: Friendliness and naivety about the wild world, possessiveness of their belongings and humans, fussiness, laziness, usually non-aggressive and pacifist, flee rather than fight, lovers of fine things and comfort.
Joining Clans
From time to time, Outsiders will seek asylum with or to join a clan permanently for different reasons. Out of these three categories, the likliest cat to be taken into a clan is a Loner: as Rogues are usually too ruthless, or were kicked from a clan in the first place, and kittypets who are older than a few moons and who already have learned dependent habits are practically useless. Any cats who are looking to join a clan from an Outsider backstory MUST participate in at least three threads within the camps boundaries, and convince their leaders of their worthiness. In the end however, it is always up to that current leader whether they are accepted or not.
Outsiders and Death
When an Outsider dies, as they do not usually believe in Starclan, their spirit simply seems to evaporate to another heaven. They are not able to interact with the living, like the cats of the clan can, due to their general disbelief in Starclan. This does not necessarily mean they are being rewarded or punished; they simply cease to exist. The only exception to this rule are former clan cats who become Rogues; of which their numbers will almost always populate the Dark Forest when they die.
