.Rust swirl is named for her stripes, which resemble the color of rusting metal. Her base coat is a lighter ginger, almost a peachy color. Although her fur is relatively short, she sometimes licks it against the grain, teasing it up into haphazard tufts. Patches of her pelt have been burned away, revealing pink skin beneath. Her eyes were once a vibrant gold, but they have become foggy due to smoke damage. . She was once quite strong, or at least wiry, but she has allowed herself to weaken a bit in her older age, becoming a bit scraggly.
Rustswirl's claws are often painted in different bright colors, which has been done for her by a little two leg girl that visits the cabins.

Detailed personality here; 50 words minimum.
Rustswirl is a very stubborn cat, and it takes a lot to get her to budge even the slightest in her beliefs. While this can be a good thing, as it makes her harder to manipulate, it also can get her in trouble when her beliefs do not match those of authority. She has her own personal morals, and if she thinks she needs to defend it, then she will do whatever she thinks is necessary. She has often been characterized as a rebellious she-cat, but in her eyes she is just doing what is right. She does not think about the consequences of her actions, and has been known to leap into things without a second thought.

History:
Rust kit never knew either of her parents. Her mother died due to complications in kitten birth, and her father, a kittypet, never learned of her existence. Without any family to speak of, the kit was, for the most part, left to her own devices. She could usually be found harassing her denmates, Eveningkit and Morningkit, or sneaking into the apprentices den to chatter with Greenpaw, who became an apprentice when Rustkit was about four moons old.
Once Rustpaw was an apprentice, she really began to find her footing. Under the tutelage of Sandbird, a young, yet very capable warrior, the she-cat learned that there were a lot of things beyond the walls of the clan, or even what other cats were willing to teach her. While Sandbird was openminded, Rustpaw was willing to ignore traditions and rules entirely, which earned her a quick reputation for being a trouble maker and a thorn in every cats paw. The thing that made things worse, however, was that as obnoxious as she was, nine times out of ten she was actually right, and incredibly talented.
Three moons into Rustpaw’s training, things turned around yet again. Her friend, Greenpaw, moved up in the ranks, receiving the name of Greenflower, and beginning a romance with Sandbird. And of course this would earn her a lot of teasing from the adolescent Rustpaw, who could not see the appeal in chasing a Tom. But Rustpaw was not lacking in company, as the young Bellpaw made her way into the apprentice den. Rustpaw, Eveningpaw, and Bellpaw quickly became a dynamic trio, getting along well despite their differing personalities. Whatever trouble Rustpaw caused, Eveningpaw could pull her out of, and Bellpaw could step in to smooth things over with her tact and grace.
As much as Rustpaw used to tease Greenflower for jumping into a relationship with Sandbird, she found herself falling into the very same hole. Now that they were warriors, Eveningblaze and Rustswirl’s friendly rivalry began to change. Eveningblaze was on the search for a mate, and Rustswirl quickly discovered that she fit into that role better than she would have imagined. She had grown quite close to the black tomcat, and was quite pleased that he would look at her in the same way.
. This brief love affair resulted in the birth of four kittens. Rustswirl loved her new family, but she was not exactly suited for queen life. In her eyes, the kittens needed to see the world as early as possible. She foolishly believed that her being there would be enough to protect them from any dangers they faced. But Eveningblaze did not see things the same way. He thought that Rustswirl was endangering the kits, and he wanted nothing to do with Rustswirl now. He quickly broke ties with her, which left Rustswirl confused and heartbroken.
On top of all of this personal heartbreak, Rustswirl also found herself swept up in the horror that was twoleg poisonings. Rustswirls sons, Weevilpaw and Hornpaw, would both meet their end thanks to this plague. As for her daughters, they had all but turned their backs on Rustswirl, instead wanting to impress their father, who had taken the place of the old leader, and was leading them into the new territories. And, at his side was Bellfeather. Greenflower and Sandbird had also made a family together, creating Desertpaw, a young Tom who had been born around the same time as Rustswirl’s litter. She wanted to be angry with the newfound lovers, but she could not do it. She could not forget that at one time, they had all been friends. If she were honest with herself, that was what she really wanted. When she and Eveningblaze were friends, things had been good. She wanted that back.
And so, Rustswirl found herself gravitating towards Bellfeather, hoping that somehow the she cat would be able to see past her mistakes, as she had when they were young. To her great relief, it was easy for her and Bellfeather to settle into old habits. Bellfeather's laid back personality complimented Rustswirl's determination now better than ever before. Even better, Bellfeather was better able to understand Rustswirl's daughters, and helped her repair some of her early mistakes.
While one friendship had been rekindled, another was broken, as both Sandbird and Greenflower were suddenly struck down by illness, leaving their nine moon old son behind. Although Rustswirl was not in the head space to take on a son, she had always viewed Sandbird and Greenflower as older siblings of sorts, so she was willing to take on that same role for their orphaned son.
Also during the journey, Rustswirl discovered another passion; talking to rogues and loners. Whenever she was bored with the idle chatter of her walking companions, she would slip off and meet some strange loner or kitty pet, and try to learn more about their lives. Once, she tried to bring a rogue back to the clans. But that quickly turned to disaster. Rustswrl;s loner friend was swiftly escorted out, and Rustswirl was warned never to invite others back to the camp again. Of course, this did not really stop her. She just learned to be much more subtle in her approach.
On another of these visits, Rustswirl was found by a young two-leg. Rustswirl tried to stay away from the girl at first, but eventually, her curiosity won over, and she investigated the odd creature. The girl brought out a vial of strange pink goop, which she then spread all over Rustswirl's claws. After holding her hostage for what Rustswirl thought must have been forever, the two leg allowed her to go free. She returned to her clan, eager to show them what had become of her, and her hot pink claws.
For many moons, Rustswirl was content in her position as the resident thorn in ValeClan’s side. She had even been given her own apprentice, a young Tom by the name of Newtpaw. But as always, things could not last. A sudden bought of green cough caused the disappearances, and supposed deaths of Rustswirls apprentice, her daughter, and her friend, Swiftleap.
Rustswirl was paired up with another apprentice named Kitepaw, and the two became fast friends and companions. Since Kitepaw had began her training under Scorpionclaw, she carried much of the same grief that Rustswirl did, which gave them a unique understanding of one another. It was while training this apprentice that Rustswirl came across a young, presumably orphaned kit by the name of Whisper. The rebellious she-cat would come to see Whisper as a sort of daughter, and was never too far away when the young one needed her help.
Rustswirls 51st moon would suddenly present itself with yet another unique set of...adventures. Swiftleap and Scorpionclaw, who had long since been thought dead, reappeared on the border. The two she-cats, as well as Newtpaw, had been out searching for catmint when a twoleg picked them up, and took them away for healing. Unfortunately, Newtpaw had not survived. Along with the reappearance of one daughter came the blooming leadership of another, as Tickstorm assumed the position of leader following the loss of BatStar.
Now that things seemed to be getting back to normal for Rustswirls life, she found herself having to seek out her own mischief and adventures. She sought out flirtatious rendezvous with a young Tom by the name of Crowdance, as well as a strange looking kittypet by the name of Mr. Nakey. Both of these flings resulted in a litter of seven kittens: five fathered by Crowdance, two by Mr. Nakey. Unfortunately one of Mr. Nakey’s sons, a half-furred Tom named Ravenkit, was stillborn. As for Crowdance, he made himself scarce, soon disappearing from the clans entirely. But although Rustswirl was unlucky in love, she was determined to prove that this litter of odd kittens would be perfectly fine raised by her alone. Upon the request of Scorpionclaw, Rustswirl kept fairly quiet about her kits true parentage, which led some cats to believe that they had been the result of a rebound with Eveningblaze, who had also gone missing a moon before the birth. And, admittedly, Rustswirl was not totally above using her daughter’s leadership position to go under the radar in her mischief, or to help others. These connections proved to be very useful when TickStar was forced to exile Rustswirls friend, Swiftleap, thanks to the she-cat taking revenge for the murder of her son. Rustswirl convinced her daughter that while the rest of the clan would believe Swiftleap had gone far away, or was even dead, the truth was that she would remain close, living with the very same kittypet that fathered Rustswirls son. TickStar agreed, as despite her personal struggles with her mother, not to mention Swiftleap, she did not wish to see either of the she-cats in pain.
A horrible fire swept over all of the camps, nearly trapping many of ValeClans warriors. However, Rustswirl charged forward, and pulled burning roots and branches away from the camp entrance in order to allow other cats to escape. This would cost her much of her sight, as well as the fur around her face and shoulders, which would prompt her to retire to the elders den. Even worse than her physical injuries though was the loss of both her daughters, TickStar and Scorpionclaw. TickStar, being a leader, would be revived, only having spent a few more of her lives. Scorpionclaw, however, was not so lucky.
