They/she : 16 moons : Dark forest - formerly Gladeclan : aroace
Appearance: {A grey cat wirth a short tail and a black stripe down their back}
Sootpaw is a grey shortfurred cat, with a thin black stripe going down the center of their face. The stripe thickens as it goes down their back, where it ends just before their tail. Their tail is short, with black at the end of the tail. Their paws are white, and their legs are a slightly darker grey than the rest of them.

Personality:
{briefly; vengeful, angry, impulsive}
Sootpaw did not used to be so violent. In fact, they used to be afraid of getting hurt, avoiding confrontation wherever they could. Now, however, they will snap at the slightest provocation, sometimes fighting others just to let off steam. They hate and resent Starclan because they believe they were banished from the clans simply because Starclan hated them and wanted them gone.

History:
When Sootpaw was a kit, they loved their sibling, Finchkit and felt like nothing could ever separate them. When they became apprentics, Sootpaw was assigned to Stagthorn, and Daisypaw's mentor was Whisperwind. They trained together, but shortly after they passed their assessments, tragedy struck. Finchpaw was killed in a minor border skirmish. Consumed by grief, Sootpaw grew to believe that they had caused Finchpaw's death. They believed that they could have done more to save her. They requested that their warrior ceremony be postponed, claiming to not be ready to be given their warrior name. That they needed time to grieve. Their true reason was that they did not believe they were worthy of being a warrior. A true warrior could have saved their sister. If only they had fought by her side, if only they had trained harder, if only they had killed Mistsong (the warrior who killed Finchpaw) when they had the chance. Mistsong. They swore that the next time they fought him, they would show no mercy. Guilt and shame began to sour into anger. Anger at themself, anger at the warriors who did nothing to stop Finchpaw's death, anger at Mistsong.
But then everything changed. The darkness that had swirled around Sootpaw, threatening to consume them, thinned enough for them to see the light of hope in the distance. Finchpaw's spirit visited them in a dream, where she told them that they had been chosen by Starclan to recieve a prophecy. "The stars must shine as one lest they be swallowed by darkness". Sootpaw was elated. A chance to prove themself! They alone had been tasked with bringing peace to the clans! They started trying to work out what the prophecy meant right away. They decided that the 'stars' meant the clan leaders, and the way to get the clans to 'shine as one' would be to get rid of the other three leaders, and combining all the clans together. The 'darkness' was clearly clan rivalry. Getting rid of the other three clans would remove the need to fight over territory. No more cats had to die like Finchpaw had! Convinced that they had discovered the meaning behind the prophecy, they wait for the perfect moment to fulfill it.
They sneak into the Valeclan's camp in the dead of night, and prepare to kill the leader. Their plan begins to go wrong as they were spotted by a warrior who hadn't yet fallen asleep. The alarm was quickly raised, and Sootpaw found themselves outnumbered. They fought as hard as they could, trying to reach the leader's den. Eventually, they were pinned to the ground, struggling hopelessly as the warriors consulted with their leader on what to do with the vicious apprentice. They were escorted back to Gladeclan's camp to learn if Emberstar, Gladeclan's leader, knew Sootpaw had attacked Valeclan in the dead of night. Sootpaw was questioned, and when Emberstar heard what their plan had been he was horrified. Sootpaw was banished from their clan, and told that if they are found on any Clan territory, they would be driven away. Sootpaw left, angry that they had been caught, and confused as to why Starclan had not intervened.
This, of course, had not been Starclan's intention when Sootpaw was given the prophecy. Sootpaw, however, fervently believed that they had only been following the wishes of Starclan, and feared that the clans would be 'consumed by darkness' because their plan had failed, and now there was nobody who knew it was going to happen. They're haunted by terrible nightmares every time they fall asleep, until one night, another spirit appeared in their dreams. Redberry. She said she sympathized with Sootpaw's predicament, and that Sootpaw could still save the clans from destruction, and Redberry would train them to be ready for when the time was right for Sootpaw to fufil their destiny. Night after night they train, and Redberry quickly becomes Sootpaw's confidant and closest friend. They tell her everything. Their anger and guilt after Finchpaw's death, their desparation to prove themself, and their confusion as to why Starclan allowed them to be banished. Redberry would nod and say things that Sootpaw didn't know they needed to hear. She understood every doubt they'd ever had, and instead of brushing them off like they had thought they were supposed to, she would talk them through, helping them erase some of their worries, but shedding light on the answers to the questions they had thought were unanswerable. Starclan hadn't interfered because they wanted Sootpaw to be banished. Finchpaw wanted them to be banished. Their anger rekindled into a blaze of hatred, with new tinder added each night they trained with Redberry, who eventually revealed her true name to be Deathberry once she felt Sootpaw fully trusted her. Shortly after this, Deathberry announced that she believed Sootpaw would be ready to return to the clans after a final test.
She left the clearing where they trained, and returned with Finchpaw's spirit following her. Upon seeing the cat that had caused all of this to happen, all the anger that Deathberry had encouraged finally had a direction. Finchpaw attempted to apologise to Sootpaw to explain that she had never meant for any of this to happen, but her words fell on deaf ears. Sootpaw became angrier and angrier at the blatant lies they believed their sister was telling, until they finally snapped and attacked. Finchpaw didn't want to fight back, but it soon became clear that Sootpaw would not back down. Sootpaw did not share the same unwillingness to harm their sibling, and quickly defeated her. They barely hesitated before performing the killing blow. Deathberry happily said that they had done well, and that it was time for Sootpaw to return to the clans.
Their mission this time was not to save the clans, but to kill as many cats as they could. They wanted others to suffer as they had, wanted Starclan to watch as the cat they had hoped would help to bring peace claw at the tapestry where only the chosen can live. They wanted to create a tear in the fabric that wouldn't easily be fixed. They tore into the camp they had once crept into by cover of darkness. They fought tooth and claw, knowing that this was a fight they could nor win but desperate to take as many as they could with them. Though they were outnumbered, they fought as though they had the strength of a lion. Finally they were overpowered and killed.
They awoke in the dark forest with Deathberry to welcome them, where they have resided ever since.
