Rank Requirements
Members will have to maintain a certain level of activity depending on their rank.
Leaders, deputies, and medicine cats must fulfill their listed duties every month. If a character misses a month, they will be made inactive and replaced unless the role player has contacted staff AHEAD of time. The rest of the warriors, apprentices, etc. are only required to post once every two months to keep their character active, excluding the special circumstances included below.
Leader
Leaders will be in charge of posting their clan’s ceremony during the first week of the month and attending gatherings on the third week. If the leader is not available at the time for some reason, they are allowed to ask their deputy to step in for one of these ceremonies a month. This is not allowed two months in a row or more than four times a year.
Ceremonies include warriors and apprentices being named, as well as general clan announcements.
Deputy
Deputies are responsible for assigning both border and hunting patrols on the second week of the month. They accompany leaders to gatherings as well. If a deputy is filling in for a leader, they may choose a warrior to assign patrols for that month. A patrol consists of three to six cats, not including their apprentices. Deputy-assigned patrols are not the only patrols that may occur in a clan; they are present to encourage member interaction.
Medicine Cat/Apprentice/Healer/Healer Apprentice
Medicine cats/Healers and their Apprentices meet with each other on the fourth week of the month to talk about prophesies, exchange herbs, and other general talk. Once a month, they must also participate in their duties, such as picking herbs or healing other cats.
Warriors
Warriors are encouraged to role play their clan-specific ceremony, gatherings, ceremonies, and deputy-assigned patrols. At least one thread every two months is required to keep their character active. If a warrior is a mentor, two training threads are necessary. Generally speaking, this usually is one thread where they are showing them the territory or leading them around on a patrol, and one thread where they are teaching a skill such as hunting or fighting. A warrior may be chosen to fill in for a deputy if necessary, but not without the member’s permission ahead of time.
Queens | Perma-Queens | Kindle Keepers | Den Dads
At it's most basic, a Queen is a cat who is pregnant or nursing kits. While doing so, they are mostly confined to camp, and their focus is on domestic things such as child-rearing, sorting prey, fixing nests and occasionally helping Medicine Cats. A Perma-Queen is a she-cat who chooses to remain in the nursery to help with things, such as raising adopted or orphaned kits, or taking care of domestic duties full-time rather than participating in the jobs of a warrior. A Den Dad is the term given to a tom who chooses to raise kits rather than focus on the life of being a warrior, either permanently or to raise a particular litter, and a Kindle Keeper refers to a non-binary cat taking up the same role. At least one thread every month is required to keep the character active.
Apprentices
Apprentices are required to have two training threads with their mentor before they are named a warrior, although one of these threads can be bypassed by purchasing an item from the FAD shop. If not, their ceremony will be delayed. They are encouraged to participate on deputy-assigned patrols with their mentor.
Kits/Queens
There are NO specific rules for Kits or Queens, besides being required to participate in one role play every two months. Generally it is suggested that the parents have at least ONE thread where they are seen interacting with their kits; else why would they want a family in the first place. Kits are allowed to have any sort of thread they want - but be aware if they are to leave the camp at any time before their 6th moon they are likely to get into trouble which may delay their apprenticeship.
Elders
All cats are required to participate in one role play every two months, and this includes elders as well.
Loners/Kittypets/Rogues
Cats from outside of the clans are required to participate in at least one role play every two months to be considered active on the board.
Multiple Ranks
You are allowed to have as many warriors, apprentices, kits, elders and queens as you are able to given your character limits as a member. However, each member is only entitled to three (3) high ranking positions at a time. However, a user with a leader can not apply for deputy. A user with a deputy can not apply for a leader either. The only combinations available for HR is: deputy/med cat/healer OR leader/med cat/healer. One user can not hold 2 of the same HR ranking. Healers are considered different to medicine cats, however one person cannot have a deputy or leader with a healer and a half-healer. You are entitled to have a deputy/leader and a medicine cat/healer in the same clan, although it isn't recommended.
High Ranks are chosen by a number of criteria: Member's Activity, Writing Prowess, Adherence to Rules, and adaptability being key, but we will also be looking for the character themselves and their suitability to the rank they are applying for.
Inactivity
If a roleplayer is unable to place a character in at least one roleplay every two months, the character in question will be made inactive. This does not mean that the character will not be allowed to be roleplayed ever again; if a member wishes to start writing with a character again, all they need to do is contact a member of the staff to reinstate the character in question.
However, if the character had been holding a high rank at the time, they will return to the site as an average warrior; barring any previously discussed circumstances.
Any high ranking member who wishes to give up their post due to time restraints or issues may continue to roleplay the character, the reason being given for their change in status can be decided by staff members and the roleplayer in question.
